Every time a baby is born, so is a mother...

After the birth of my son, it became my mission to establish a supportive community, specifically geared to my fellow West Indians, BIPOC and Caribbean diasporans. As an immigrant myself, adjusting to the major change in culture and location, I searched for similar experiences. Seeking stories of pregnancy and giving birth in online communities and spaces to ease my anxieties and feelings of homesickness coupled with morning sickness, but the representation and cultural diversity was terribly lacking.

Necessity thrust me into this new role and I couldn’t be more thrilled to serve and meet the needs of this community through the creation of the Caribbean Birth Stories podcast and the materialization of the Amai Birth Collection.

We will allocate part proceeds of every purchase to provide women in need with a Mommy Bag filled with the necessary essentials for their labor, delivery and postpartum care. We recognize that every time a baby is born, so is a mother and supporting our community by raising those who cannot raise themselves is a core value of ours.

Thank you for your support!
